The Hermit
A Guiding Light in Our Dark Night Of The Soul
The Hermit has many counterparts in our mythos of wisdom: from the archetype *senex* described in Jungian psychology, to the Sage of fantasy portrayed as Gandalf the Grey, and others too numerous to name. Loosely based on Diogenes of Sinope, with his search for an honest man as he wandered the streets of Athens with his lantern, this card has simple symbology, yet it stirs our ancient wisdom. I invite your comments on what this simple image stirs in your thoughts. A memory of a wise grandparent, a church leader, a teacher, or a public figure you looked up to? What direction does this powerful card take you? I want to know!
Humbly I bring my goodwill,
bowed before thy divinity.
It is not I, but my light which guides
thy footsteps upon the radiant path.
I am but a devotee to thy Godself,
awakener of your sleeping potential.
Look not upon my countenance,
for I am but a reflection,
a promise of your own teacher within.
Michael Forrest-Ready to carry the lantern when the path needs light.

These are beautiful cards!
